Following Nigeria’s grey-listing by the FATF, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) amended its Rules of Professional Conduct and established an Anti-Money Laundering Committee (NBA-AMLC) to ensure compliance and address identified vulnerabilities, particularly in areas like real estate and client asset management. The article highlights challenges such as balancing client confidentiality with regulatory demands and the need for enhanced training and supervision.
