Business Facilitation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2022

The Business Facilitation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2023 was enacted to institutionalize and strengthen the ease of doing business reforms initiated by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC). The Act amends several existing legislative frameworks to eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks, promote transparency, and enhance the efficiency of public service delivery in Nigeria.

Key provisions include statutory timelines for regulatory approvals, mandatory publication of service level agreements by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), recognition of electronic documents and signatures, and harmonization of business-related laws to facilitate seamless regulatory compliance. The Act also introduces critical amendments to laws such as the Companies and Allied Matters Act, Immigration Act, Industrial Inspectorate Act, and others.
